This plan is a guideline on how I am going to be taking my photographs for my magazine and the details that bring the picture together.

Genre choice

After going through my questionnaire results I have decided to use the 'dance music' genre as the results shown me that this was the most popular genre of people between the age of 12 - 21. I also feel that of all the genres this is the one I am most knowledgeable on therefore my magazine will look more professional.

More photoshop practice



Here is the image I created using photoshop. I started with the background, chosen my main colour and used the paint bucket tool and coloured my background light blue. I then selected my second colour and used the gradient tool to select the right amount of each colour I wish to use. Then I opened the image of mario karts and selected the magic wand tool. I then clicked below mario to which all three characters were highlighted. i then clicked refine edges

Mood Board

Here is my mood board that I have created based around the dance music genre. The images used represent dance music and show people what they are likely to relate dance music with. Decks, DJs, Clubs, Glo sticks, Festivals, Boat parties, foam and smoke machines, lights and lazers. 

Photoshop practice

Here is an image of the DJ Deadmau5. I have edited the background so that its black and white and kept his helmet the original colour. This way it shows off his logo of his mouse helmet and attracts the eye straight to the coloured section. Although it is basic edditting it is very affective to the audience. 

Rule of third

Rule of third is simple process which involves splitting the image into 9 sections ensuring that the main part of the image lies within the horizontal axis.

To the left is an example of rule of third. The main part of the image is the wasp, we see that it isn't placed directly in the center of the image, its slightly left.

I will make sure to use the rule of third within my magazine as it shows professionalism and quality.

Masthead - Name of Magazine

Headline -  Title that relates to the specific magazine issue

Puffs - Used to promote

Pug's - Known as the ears of the page, placed either top left or right corner. Used to promote, show the price or have the magazines logo

Drop capitals - When a big letter is used in front of the first word of the topic

House style - The design and colour scheme that distinguishes that specific magazine

Caption -  Extra detail that goes beside the main image

Banner - Text that stretches from one side of the magazine to the other

Introduction

Welcome to my blog for my AS media coursework. I will be frequently using this blog for the work I have produced in class on my coursework. Our assignment is to produce a music magazine with 4 pages, a front cover, a contents bage then a double page containing an article of my choice. I will be using original photography and photoshop to edit pictures and my magazine.
